Located in Ponce de Leon Park is a 1/4 mile wooden boardwalk. At the halfway point is a metal and concrete fishing and observation pier. This pier is over 100 feet long and faces onto the Punta Gorda Isles/Ponce de Leon Inlet channel. This channel provides access to boaters from Punta Gorda Isles to Charlotte Harbor via the channel and inlet. There are recessed areas on the pier for wheelchair and mobility assist devices to fish or observe nature. The boardwalk providing access to the pier is wooden with a recycled plastic timber walkway. It is ADA accessible. There is ample parking in the park, along with restrooms, picnic area, playground and beach. Note there is no seating available on the pier but seating is available on the boardwalk. This pier faces south and does not have any shade from the sun.
