The present bridge constructed in 1915 comprises three 45.7m spans of riveted, five-panel, through Pratt trusses. The bridge is supported on the dark grey, cast iron cylinder piers that supported the 1897 bridge, these have wide bases that taper sharply inwards at about one third of the height of the piers. The bridge was supported at two points across the river. At each point is a pair of piers.
The bridge is now unused except for the occasional times when new exhibits for the rail museum are delivered.
