Crazy and eclectic mixture of architectonic styles (neo-Rennaisance, Art-Deco, neo-Gothic, Classicism...), usnusual use of noncompatible shapes, lines and materials, funny mural, stone statue of Our Lady on the front facade - it is Pštrossova vila (Pštross Villa) in Bechyne, currently a small luxury family hotel.
Villa of the Czech architect Zdenek Pštross, situated on the corner of "Valtrova" and "Klášterní" streets in Bechyne, was built in 1939. Pštross built villa as his representative family residence. The building contains elements of several architectonic styles (neo-Rennaisance, Art-Deco, neo-Gothic, Classicism...). On the rounded corner is a stone statue of the Our Lady with Infant Jesus. The villa was managed by the town of Bechyne as a tenement house and contained three residential units in the 1980s. When the city got rid of some of the buildings for sale, the villa passed into private hands and became a hotel after reconstruction. The new owner had an information board made on the rounded corner of the villa and on the west wall also a fresco with the Pštross couple and their dogs.
