The Barry J. Kaplan Bridge is a pedestrian bridge located in Rick Rice Park in Katy, TX. It connects the park to the Mason Creek Hike and Bike trail, and extended trail along the Mason creek.
Designed by the architectural firm TBG Partners and commissioned by the Interstate Municipal Utility District (MUD), it was completed in 2012 and named after Barry J. Kaplan, the President of the MUD Board.
The bridge is a true work of art, and its two arches are equipped with a series of ramps of remote-controlled LED lights. Its lighting is quite unique during evening hours.
