Het Grevelingenmeer is het grootste zoutwatermeer in Europa
Battenoord is een buurtschap op Goeree-Overflakkee bij het dorpje Herkingen.
Bij Battenoord overwinteren de laatste jaren drie soorten flamingo’s: de Europese flamingo, Chileense flamingo en de Caribische flamingo.
Bij het jachthaventje staat een uitkijktoren die een mooi uitzicht biedt over de buitendijkse omgeving.

Battenoord is a hamlet on Goeree-Overflakkee near the village of Herkingen.
In recent years, three types of flamingos have hibernated at Battenoord: the European flamingo, the Chilean flamingo and the Caribbean flamingo.
There is a watchtower at the marina that offers a beautiful view of the area outside the dykes.
