The Sarsparilla trail is located in Stony Swamp. Stony Swamp is a network of Beaver Ponds, wetlands, and forests with boardwalks and interpretive exhibits on its geology and natural history. It also houses a Wild Bird Care Centre. There are over 40 kilometers of trails for hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
The Sarparilla trail itself is a short .8 kilometer hike which takes you around to a boardwalk and a viewing platform on the edge of a large beaver pond in the swamp.
