Langs de Heiligenbergerbeek in Leusden komt een ecologische verbindingszone. De fosfaatrijke bovengrond van voormalige landbouwpercelen wordt afgegraven, zodat er nieuwe natuur kan ontstaan.

Dit gebeurt in opdracht van Waterschap Vallei & Eem en landgoed Den Treek-Henschoten. Het afgraven van de grond is gestart op percelen nabij de Hopschuur tussen de Treekerweg en de beek. Begin 2012 zijn de percelen ten noorden van de Ooievaarshorsterweg aan de beurt.
Het gebied nabij het gasverdeelstation aan de Arnhemseweg, daar komt een circa 35 meter brede natte natuurstrook met poelen.
12 hectare
Totaal ontstaat er 12 hectare nieuwe natuur langs de Heiligenbergerbeek.
An ecological connection zone will be built along the Heiligenbergerbeek in Leusden. The phosphate-rich topsoil of former agricultural parcels is excavated, so that new nature can be created.
This was commissioned by the Vallei & Eem Water Board and the Den Treek-Henschoten estate. The excavation of the soil has started on plots near the Hopschuur between the Treekerweg and the stream. At the beginning of 2012, it will be the turn of the plots north of the Ooievaarshorsterweg.
The area near the gas distribution station on Arnhemseweg, where an approximately 35-meter-wide wet nature strip with pools will be built.
In total, 12 hectares of new nature are created along the Heiligenbergerbeek.
