A steel beam from the World Trade Center in New York City stands erect in front of the Watauga Fire Department's central fire station, flanked on one side by the United States Flag and on the other by the Flag of the State of Texas. This memorial honors all who died in the collapse of the Twin Towers, the firefighters and police in particular. The memorial was dedicated on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
