There is no indication as to whether Mr. Hale is related to the Joshua (or Josiah) Hale for whom Halesboro was named. The inscription on his monument reads:

Robert Hale

Born
June 14, 1849
Died
Dec. 21, 1907

---

The golden gates were
opened wide, a gentle voice
said come and angels
from the other side
welcomed our loved one
home
Was the inscription legible?: Yes
