The Maryborough Heritage Centre was built in 1877 as the second purpose built branch of the Bank of New South Wales in Maryborough. When a new Bank of New South Wales was erected on the corner of Kent and Bazaar Streets in 1956 the 1877 building was redundant, in 1995 the building was acquired by Maryborough City Council use as a local heritage research centre.
t
The brick building is surrounded on three sides by a double storeyed verandah, with hipped curved awnings supported on cast iron columns on the first floor, the ground floor of the verandah is lined with cast iron columns on rendered masonry plinths between which a wrought iron balustrade runs
