Dr. Eudy was one of the millions who fell because of the "Spanish Influenza" in 1918, and his eldest brother followed him in death by the same cause just two months later.
This beautiful gray granite headstone has floral detail at the top. Flanking his name, "Dr. J.H. Eudy", are the emblems of the Woodmen of the World and the Freemasons. "Son of William and M.A. Eudy" is directly below, followed by his personal dates and a peculiar run-on:
Born Mar. 23, 1886 -- Died Oct. 5, 1918
He was a loving companion and a father dear, his place
here is vacant which never can be filled, our little
home is broken and our hearts are sad, but we hope
some day to meet him where there is nomore parti
ng, no sorrow or tears and nomore goodbyes.
