As early as 1311, a flour mill stood in exactly the same place where “De Vier Winden” now stands.
"De Vier Winden" was in use until 1932. In 1957 the mill became the property of the municipality of Monster.
After various restorations, the mill was put back into operation in 1983 and to this day, wheat is milled into whole wheat flour by enthusiastic volunteers from the "Guild of Voluntary Millers". After the municipal redivision of 2004, the mill became the property of the municipality of Westland.
