The four-chair lift to replaced the original old ski lift from Transporta Chrudim. The reason was to increase the capacity of transported skiers on the longest ski slope in Pec pod Snežkou ski resort and also to eliminate the steep climb, which caused problems for skiers using the ski lift. Construction work started in 2003 and the opening ceremony took place on December 8, 2003. The chairlift was originally intended only for winter operation, so it was used only by skiers using both the downhill course from Brown Hill and cross-country trails on the ridges of the Giant Mountains. However, after the negotiations of the Krkonoše National Park Administration with the town of Pec pod Snežkou, the summer operation was finally allowed from summer 2006. Summer operation is on weekends and public holidays in April-June and in September-October. During the summer holidays (July-August) the chairlift runs every day.
The chairlift is a passenger suspended single-rope system with a fixed attachment of 96 four-seater seats. It is 1168 m long (inclined, actual length), horizontal length is 1118 m, elevation 317 m and has 12 supporting steel pylons. The railway has two stations - Pec pod Snezkou (895 m) and Hnedý vrch (Brown Hill; 1212 m). the transport speed is 2.6 m / s and the cable car transports 1,460 passengers per hour, the journey takes 8.5 minutes.
