These yellow lions highlight the main doors of Roosevelt Elementary School. The lions are original to the 1919-1921 construction of the building, which was opened in January of 1922 as a jr. high school.
The yellow of the two sizes of lions is also used to set-off window ledges, a large "R"s on the building and edging above the first and third floors.
