Los 36 Billares was inaugurated in 1894. Originally it had 36 billiard table but nowadays the count is 9 billiards, 6 pool and 1 snooker (which is about 100 years old).
The Spanish writer Federico García Lorca used to come hereto play a bit.
In 2013 the space was bought by a chain of pizzerias and shut down. However it reopen in 2014 after renovation and somehow it was able to keep the classic atmosphere.
It even has an Wikipedia entry and it's mentioned in Lonely Planet and in the official Buenos Aires tourism website:
