Municipal Flag - Garnett, Kansas - Municipal Flags on Waymarking.com

This flag is part of a two flag display at the Garnett, Kansas, City Hall. The flag pole the municipal flag is displayed on is aluminum and is 20 feet tall. The flagpole is at the northwestern portion of the City Hall property. The flag depicts yellow rolling hills that have been tilled with black lines in the lower half of the field. In the center of the upper half is a yellow circle surrounded by a red arc to represent the sun. The rest of the upper field is blue to represent the sky.

Garnett KS held a flag contest in 2018 and announced the winner in February 2019.

The Winner was the design submitted by Emma Self which was selected as the winning entry in the Garnett City Flag Design Challenge. Emma's description of the meaning and symbolism contained in her flag design is as follows:

"My design is about how here in Garnett, we farm a lot and how the sun rises and sets in the field; how much beauty it has. We will remember how beautiful our town is."
