The RAF trainer left Tain, Scotland crewed by five Czech airman on the 10th January 1945 bound for Essex, England but never arrived. An initial search for the plane found nothing and it wasn't until 19th August 1945 that a group of walks came cross the wreckage just meters below the summit ridge of Stob an t-Sluichd. The airmen's bodies were recovered and laid to rest in Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey, England. As the site is a significant distance from a road or track the remains were burnt on site, however both engines and some metal wing and fuselage sections survive.

To visit the site requires significant effort from the nearest road access point. For my visit I started at Keiloch, and cycled the rough track to it end up Gleann an t-Slugain. From there it's around a eight mile hike to the site.
