The course opened in 1933 and is the ninth golf course in the Netherlands. It has 9 holes. It is played until 1981 by the Rotterdamsche Golfclub (RGC). If that club wants 18 holes, it will leave the grounds and set up Golfclub Broekpolder, which will build an 18-hole golf course in Vlaardingen. Some members of the RGC decide not to go to Broekpolder, and continue the golf club under a new name: Golfclub Kralingen. It has been a public job ever since. The Dutch Golf Federation (NGF) allows them to keep the 'club number 9'.
