A scene from Christmas in the Heartland takes place in front of the Oklahoma Sports Museum, on Oklahoma Ave. in Guthrie. In this scene from the movie, a young girl and her family perform to raise money for a new dress. Joe Don Rooney, lead guitarist for Rascal Flatts, plays the girl's country-singer father. Shelley Long plays her grandmother, who is also in this scene singing Christmas carols. The front of the sports museum is one of the most easily recognizable locations in the movie. Coordinates are for the location to view the scene, directly north of the Sports Museum, on the north side of Oklahoma Ave.

The movie also stars Christopher Rich, Christian Kane, Bo Derek; Brighton Sharbino and Sierra McCormick play the two main characters, girls who switch places while meeting family members for the first time for Christmas. The beginning of the movie shows the two girls on the plane, flying into Stillwater, OK to meet family for the holidays. Most of the movie is filmed in and near Guthrie.
