The calaboose sits on a vacant lot that is private property. They don't mind you there for legitimate visits, so please be on your best behavior and visit during daylight hours. This one is referenced in Wikipedia's entry for "One-room jail", at the link provided below.
Unfortunately, as of this posting, the Tiny Texas Jails website is offline. However, the work upon which it's based is William E. Moore's "The Texas Calaboose and Other Forgotten Jails", which has nice color photographs and brief histories of many of Texas's surviving calabooses. Moore notes that this calaboose was constructed in 1925 when the town was incorporated, and a stone atop the roof notes that. It replaced a dugout that served as the first jail, and it has two cells, each with its own barred rear window, separated by a concrete wall. The metal doors were originally solid, but circular holes were cut into them to provide ventilation. Note the storm shelter just a few feet behind the calaboose. The doors are locked, and while photos are difficult, one can get a good peek at the inside through the rear windows.
