There are actually four cemeteries in this area, spawning massive confusion about who is buried in which cemetery: Findagrave has many listings that are not in the correct cemetery, a bureaucrat's dream should someone wish to clean it all up. Coming up from Electra on TX 25, the cemeteries are just north of US 287. To the right is the easy one, New Electra Memorial Cemetery, with the Cross family museum just on the other side of the entry arch. To the left is Old Electra Memorial Cemetery, and behind it is Dick Sparks Cemetery. Where it has been fuzzy in the past is that there has been no line of demarcation between the Old Electra Memorial Cemetery and Electra Memorial Park Cemetery, which borders it to the north. Cemetery signs have led to confusion, and neither Bing Maps nor Mapquest are any help. Google Maps at least has the label correct for New Electra Memorial Cemetery, but current street views are not helpful regarding which cemetery is which. As of March of 2019, all have the proper names on their access gates, and there are signs on the border between Old Electra and Electra Memorial Park.

With that said ...

Mr. Wheeler is buried with his family, and according to his Findagrave page, he was killed in an oil field accident. His final resting place is marked with an impressive monument with a cap, with an interesting bit of detail that looks like chained lily of the valley flowers. The family name, "Wheeler", is on the plinth, and the inscription reads:

Roy E. Wheeler

Nov. 3, 1886,
Jan. 23, 1914.
