Pigeonnier d'Ongles - Ongles, France - Dovecotes on Waymarking.com

En arrivant dans le village d'Ongles par le sud, on peut voir 3 pigeonniers à une trentaines de mètres les uns des autres, souvenir d'un passé où la région (plus particulièrement Limans qui en compte plus d'une dizaines) était parsemée de pigeonniers.
Celui-ci, en forme de tour carrée n'a curieusement pas de lamier vernissé comme c'est l'usage en Provence.
Ses ouvertures, habituellement des trous bien ronds, ont été converties en une fenêtre. La structure de l'édifice, une tour qui s'élève ici sur 3 étages aériens, sans aucune autre ouverture et un toit avec deux murs qui s'opposent montant plus haut que le reste, en biais, rejoignant un troisième pan de mur qui s'élève plus haut, est typique des pigeonniers comme on peut le voir sur d'autres :
