Located north of Dunnellon, Florida is the Rainbow Springs State Park. This state park is located at the headwaters of the Rainbow River. Located nearby is the state park campground. This campground is operated by the Florida State Park Service and is approximately 6 miles from the headsprings. There are 60 campsites located in 3 separate loops that include restrooms, showers and laundry facilities. A dump station is located near the entrance/exit not far from the camp office. Fees for campsites are $30.00 nightly/daily for tent, trailer or RV.

There is a small playground area near the camp office and there is a small camp store with limited supplies and has concessions for renting canoes and kayaks. There is a canoe and kayak launch within walking distance and a small roped off swimming area at the Rainbow River. Covered picnic tables are available near the playground and the swimming/canoe & kayak launching area at the river.
