Most of us have heard of the expression "when pigs fly". It's used to speak of things that are not likely to happen. Charlene Dargay has given this definition: "
“When pigs fly” is used to describe an impossible thing, something that will never happen. It’s often used humorously or sarcastically, especially as a comment on extreme ambition or deluded self-assurance. Similar: when hell freezes over."
On the front porch of the terrific BBQ restaurant, Smokin Joes, there is a sculpture made of sheet metal depicting this Pig expression. The pig is all metal. His body is painted yellow, and his ears and nose are pink. And then, you notice a set of wings protruding out of his back. Funny. We got a kick out of seeing this unlikely sculpture.
