The Romanesque granite baptism font in the Holy Spirit Church originates from the city's first church, St. Nicholas.
When the church was restored in 1858, it was removed from the church and used as a watering trough for the horses at a farm.
It was replaced by a new marble baptism font made by H.C.Freund, a pupil of Bertel Thorvaldsen.
In 1911 the granite baptism font returned to the church and was again used as a baptism font. The baptism dish that had been hanging in private homes for over 100 years also returned to the church.
The baptism font of marble is now used for candles.
