Capture the Sun is a community solar garden was opened in 2015. It is a collection of solar panels shared with customers who are unable to install and maintain a solar panel system of their own, such as customers with shaded roofs and those who have structures not suitable for solar panels.
The ten sets of solar panels currently in use produced 742.5 kWh of electricity in February 2020 and 13.75 MWh since opening in 2015. When the solar garden was planned extra concrete slabs were included. There are two slabs ready for when the Moorhead Public Service Commission decides there are ready to expand the Capture the Sun program.
