With a current population of about 330, Indiahoma is basically a home site for folks who never left.

Indiahoma is located in the upper southwest part of Comanche County. It is about 24 miles west of Lawton, on the southwest corner of the Ft. Sill Military Reservation.
The town was established in 1903 with its mainstay being cotton.
- In 1911, it had two gas stations, three groceries and a concrete block manufacturer, as well as other small businesses.
- In the 1930's, the town was successful in having US Highway 62 run through town.
- In 1956, Ft. Sill expanded their target ranges, encroaching on the town's lands and farming.
- In the 1960's, expansion of Highway 62 resulted in the highway bypassing Indiahoma.
- In the 1970's, the town still had a grain elevator, lumberyard and meat processing plant. The peak population of 434 occurred during this time frame.
Today, old highway 62 runs past three derelict buildings, and the town consists of just one gas station, a school and four churches, other than the frame residences. It no longer has a community newspaper. The town office building was open and we enjoyed seeing the vintage photos. Currently, any businesses in town are inside this town building. They include a small cafe, the senior center, a salon and a gift shop.
