The Oklahoma State University Botanic Garden has a large number of themed gardens, with a walking trail going around and through the property so guests can easily visit all the different areas.

A little to the west of the Children's Garden, on the north side of the sidewalk, is a giant checkers board game. The checkers themselves appear to be made of a lightweight plaster material. The game board is nestled in the trees with lots of shade and is approximately 8 feet square.

There is no fee to visit the Botanic Gardens, but donations are accepted. Entrances are at both the south side (Highway 51, longer walk to the checkers board), or from the north end.
