The Marian Columns were built in Bohemia and Moravia often as commemorative columns, as a reminder of the tragic events, especially the wars and the plague epidemics.
The chronograms are located on the pedestal of the Marian Column. The Roman numerals of chronograms are larger than the other letters and are not color-coded from the rest of the text.

Sloup dala zhotovit Anna Marie Františka velkovévodkyne Toskánská, jako památník obetem moru. Jedná se o velmi kvalitní socharské dílo Jana Pursche z roku 1729.
Sloup má trojúhelný pudorys. Patrovou základnu obíhá krátké schodište. Ve spodní cásti základny vidíme sochu sv. Václava, sv. Jana Nepomuckého a sv. Ludmily. Nad nimi se nacházejí dve kartuše s nápisy a jedna se sasko-laurenburským znakem. V horní cásti stojí statue sv. Márí Magdaleny a pravdepodobne sochy sv. Norberta a sv. Eustacha.
Na bocích jsou znázorneny scény Zavraždení sv. Václava, Svržení sv. Jana Nepomuckého z mostu a Zavraždení sv. Ludmily. Výše pri pate obelisku je na rímse osazeno sousoší sv. Anny samotretí, socha sv. Jáchyma a sousoší sv. Josefa s Ježíškem. Zhruba uprostred obelisku je usazen oblak s dušickami.
