FR L’église Saint-Sauveur est située à Aubagne dans le département français des Bouches-du-Rhône, en région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.

Histoire
De style roman, l’église Saint-Sauveur fut édifiée entre le xie siècle et le xiie siècle, et consacrée le 18 octobre 1615 par l’évêque de Marseille. Accolée au château jusqu'à sa destruction à la Révolution française, elle servait d'abri aux habitants de la ville lors des épidémies, des guerres et des pillages qui ont accablé la cité pendant des siècles.

À l'intérieur, sont conservées de nombreuses œuvres parmi lesquelles une statue représentant la Vierge à l'Enfant, réalisée par le sculpteur Pierre Puget.

Rattachement
L'église fait partie de la paroisse Saint Matthieu d'Aubagne qui est rattachée au diocèse de Marseille.

Architecture
Sa haute façade est percée d'un oculus, le portail d’entrée est en pierre de taille.

L’orgue
L’orgue est un magnifique instrument de musique composé de 2244 tuyaux répartis en 30 jeux et animés par trois claviers et un pédalier. Élément fondamental du patrimoine, il a été classé monument historique en 1979.

Il fut créé en 1665 par André Eustache de la dynastie de facteurs Eustache qui fabriqua de nombreuses orgues dans tout le sud de la France entre 1630 et 1787. L’instrument fut entièrement reconstruit en 1784 par le célèbre facteur marseillais Jacques Génoyer.

Les deux buffets ont été repeints en polychromie et faux marbre.

History
Romanesque in style, the Saint-Sauveur church was built between the 11th and 12th centuries and consecrated on October 18, 1615 by the Bishop of Marseille. Attached to the castle until its destruction during the French Revolution, it served as a shelter for the inhabitants of the city during the epidemics, wars and lootings that have overwhelmed the city for centuries.

Inside, many works are kept, including a statue representing the Virgin and Child, made by the sculptor Pierre Puget.

The church is part of the Saint Matthieu d'Aubagne parish which is attached to the diocese of Marseille.

Architecture
Its high facade is pierced with an oculus, the entrance gate is of ashlar.

The organ
The organ is a magnificent musical instrument composed of 2244 pipes divided into 30 stops and animated by three keyboards and a pedalboard. A fundamental element of heritage, it was classified as a historic monument in 1979.

It was created in 1665 by André Eustache from the Eustache organ builder dynasty who built numerous organs throughout the south of France between 1630 and 1787. The instrument was completely rebuilt in 1784 by the famous Marseilles organ maker Jacques Génoyer.

The two sideboards have been repainted in polychromy and faux marble.
