Tyler Morning Telegraph"Tyler received a wealth of benefits from the WPA programs, including Tyler State Park, many buildings and art. Its precursor, the Public Works of Art Project, employed 3,700 artists and created more than 15,600 works of art in just six months. During the expansion of the Carnegie Library, another WPA project, artist James Douthitt Wilson, was hired to paint a series of 12 murals in the building."
