This is a two-story red brick bank building in the Romanesque/Gothic style. All large windows have arches and stone sills. The windows and entrance were remodeled in 1997 with the windows having segmented fixed panes. The upper wall has projected rows of dentiling, and a raised parapet. The entrance at the northeast corner is canted and recess under two arched openings.

The building was constructed in 1896. It housed the First National Bank for 74 years, and was also the home of a fraternal order for 66 years. The biggest surprise we got was when the current owner came outside and asked us if we would like to see the interior.

This beautiful bank building in downtown Wynnewood is now a private residence. The wood floors are intact, as well as the pressed tin ceiling. The owner is an antique aficionado and the antiques look beautifully at home in this building. He uses an antique refrigerator and stove, and the old vault is a combination pantry and storm shelter. Walking up the six foot wide wood stairway you enter the second floor which is a sitting area and bedroom. There are no dividing walls, and again, antiques abound. A bathroom with exposed brick walls and a footed tub complete the picture. The owner is very open to letting visitors explore so if you are in Wynnewood, check to see if there is anyone home. It will be an eye-opening visit.
