A local legend, Jack Waltz, aka Lost Dutchman, is portrayed in a metal sculpture that is set in an adobe type structure. The Lost Dutchman is obviously setting out with his pack mule and his mining equipment to find that gold. In mid to late 2006, during a revitalization effort by Apache Junction, this memorial was part of the beautification project.

This artwork is located on the north side of Hwy 88 at its intersection with Hackamore Rd. There is a large area to pull off the busy 88 and safely view the Lost Dutchman.
