Findagrave is rather quiet about this couple, noting that Mr. Maupin had been in a merchant in Gainesville. Given the time in which he lived, it's possible he was operating a store as Gainesville was established and grew.

This vault was constructed in 1918, presumably for Mrs. Maupin, who had passed on in 1917, and it wasn't long before Mr. Maupin joined her. The vault is made of stone with two detailed support columns up front, very Classical Revival. There is a stepped roof, with "1918" above "J.H. Maupin". Unlike a mausoleum which can be entered through a door, the only openings here are for the caskets of the deceased, one stacked atop the other, with a marble stone at the center of each slot with the person's name and birth and death dates. Note a paint job of some kind, and there are areas where the stone has been revealed.
Year built or dedicated as indicated on the structure or plaque: 1918

Full Inscription (unless noted above):
1918
J.H. Maupin
