The First World War Memorial is situated in a traffic island in one of the major. intersections of Goomeri. The 24m high painted concrete monument comprises a tapered tower with clockfaces on which the letters Lest we forget replace the numerals on each clock face is at the apex. A heavy metal door bearing a bronze Australian Coat of Arms surrounded by a laurel wreath is recessed into the north face. The dates 1914 and 1919 are located above and below the wreath, also in bronze, these features are from the original memorial, the base of which sits on another traffic island across the Highway.
The Goomeri War Memorial Clock unveiled on 15 November 1940 honours the 9 local men who fell in the First World War and the 12 who fell in the Second World War.
The clock features a white face and the words Lest we forget instead of numerals in black , the hands being the same colour, the clock os non chiming
