This butterfly at 8th and Walnut is one of the most unique painted butterflies in Stillwater. If you read the link below, about Dr. Breedlove, you'll understand why. It's a genius design! Dr. Breedlove has a passion for sports officiating, and was on the cover of Referee magazine.

Referee is the theme of this butterfly, with a referee head in the thorax, and an eyeball and the underside of the thorax. The front pink referee face has a lanyard and whistle, and the referee's mouth is open to yell the command. he wears a white hat. The main colors of the insect are black and white stripes (referee theme!), with yellow antenna. "268" and "1967" along with a yellow flag are painted on the base of the sculpture.
