The American Way Outdoor Park, which runs along American Way from Waterfront Street to Fleet Street, is lined with statues of figures important to the history of the United States. This life-size bronze statue of George Washington is at the northwest end of the park. He is depicted in Colonial garb and boots, holding a tricorn hat in the air. The plaque at the base of the statue reads
