What appears as a screwdriver with a strange handle is really a straight hex head wrench. This representation of a hex head wrench had a different handle so it can be identified as a hand-held straight hex head wrench instead of a flat head or Phillips head screwdriver. The shaft is a straight six-sided rod that usually has a rounded tip that fits into the appropriately sized slot in a bolt or screw designed for a hex head driver. Most people think of hex wrenches as just L-shaped pieces of metal bar with six sides. This style hex wrench is a straight piece of metal that has a hand grip handle at one end and the hex end at the other. This design gives more torque and a better grip to the worker. It allows the whole hand to apply force to turning the wrench instead of just a few fingers. If you do large numbers of fasteners using a tool with a handle on it, less stress on your joints means higher production and less injury over time.
This featured tool is the STRAIGHT HEX HEAD WRENCH. It is a straight piece of six-sided metal rod with a large, easy to grip handle on one end and a slightly rounded hexagonal tip at the business end.
