A carbon monoxide leak prompted an evacuation Friday night at Bricktown Comedy Club in Oklahoma City, and the featured comedian of the night, Dave Attell, was among those who had to leave the building.
According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, crews responded to the incident just before 7:30 p.m. at the comedy club near California and Joe Carter avenues. Fire crews said they determined that a carbon monoxide canister was leaking, possibly from the fountain drink dispensers.
Staff and patrons were told to leave the building as crews worked to clear the scene. Attell was seen taking photos with fans and firefighters outside.
Everyone has been allowed to go back inside. According to the club, the equipment is new so it was shocking, but the show must go on. Attell’s 10:30 p.m. show was delayed to 11:15 p.m.
