Paula Jean Powerline Park is a linear park under high voltage power lines located in west Aloha, Oregon at 21391 SW Jay Street. There is no off-street parking, but parking is permitted on SW Jay Street. The park is a long thin rectangle in shape and can be accessed from all sides. It is still under construction so there is no park sign yet. The adjacent park Trachsel Meadows will be added to this park making the total length about one mile. What is really weird is that the park is located within Aloha, has a Beaverton mailing address and is operated by Hillsboro Parks and Recreation. The Coordinates are set to the center of the basketball court. This park is open dawn to dusk.
This location has a half sized basketball court which is in usable condition. The playing surface is mostly smooth, the net is in good condition but there is no striping. The coordinates were taken at the center of the basketball court since there is no free throw line. Note to potential users: Under Surface Quality below, please disregard my selection "Poor, No Lines, Potholes and weeds". There is no selection for "Good Surface with No Lines" nor is there a selection for "Other" where I could type in a more accurate description.
From the Park website:
"Paula Jean Powerline Park, a power line corridor, offers ample space for active play. The park encompasses Paula Jean Playground at the north end and Traschsel Meadows at the south end. A narrow paved path connects the main portions of the park to the surrounding neighborhood, and several unpaved paths continue on through the meadow. Paula Jean playground offers a set of classic play structures with an adjacent shaded bench. There is a small basketball court in the southern portion of the park, off SW Augusta Street. The park can be accessed in many places from the neighborhood both on both sides, as well as from SW Jay Street, SW Augusta Street and SW Johnson Street. Restrooms and drinking water are not available. "
