American Legion Post No. 0117 has as its namesake John R. Strange (11/16/1929 - 7/5/2009), who was a long-time resident of Hobart, and served in the Air Force in the Korean War.

This post meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 in the building at 115-117 W. 4th Street. This meeting hall was constructed in 1905 and is a contributing building to the Downtown Hobart Historic District. They are an active post with many activities at this location. Phone: 580-453-9049.
