Dr. Broadwater grew up outside of Richmond in Henrico Country. Even as a young child, she had a love of animals and knew she wanted to help care for them. Dr. Broadwater graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980.
Dr. Broadwater established Broadwater Veterinary Hospital in 1983 and began the arduous process of renovating an old service station into the veterinary hospital it is today.
Dr. Broadwater has three children and she currently resides in Gate City with her two poodles Emma and Lyla.
