The Royal Bull's Head Inn, a two storey timber and brick building, was constructed in 1859. Originally known as the Bulls Head Hotel, following the visit of Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Queensland's new governor, in March 1860, the title "Royal" was added to the name. In 1879, the Royal Bull's Head finally ceased trading as a hotel and was purchased as a family home
