[FR] "Dans la paroisse de Chalandray, était, et est encore, l’église Notre-Dame.
Une partie de cette église existait déjà au 18° siècle, elle en forme le chevet. Cette partie, comme nous pouvons le voir sur les lieux, est remarquable par sa construction. La base de l’édifice est plus étroit que la partie supérieure. La maçonnerie en est renforcée par des colonnes externes dont le sommet est orné de têtes grimaçantes.
Au 18° siècle, les curés des paroisses devaient déclarer les biens de leur cure pour satisfaire à l’Assemblée Générale du Clergé de France du 12 Dec 1726."

C'est à l'intérieur de cette petite église que vous trouverez ce monument aux morts de la seconde guerre mondiale. Le monument est surmonté d'une Vierge de Pitié. Vous pourrez lire sur ce monument :

[EN] "In the parish of Chalandray, was, and still is, Notre-Dame church.
Part of this church already existed in the 18th century, it forms the apse. This part, as we can see on the spot, is remarkable for its construction. The base of the building is narrower than the top. The masonry is reinforced by external columns, the top of which is decorated with grinning heads.
In the 18th century, the parish priests had to declare the goods of their cure to satisfy the General Assembly of the Clergy of France of 12 Dec 1726. "



It is inside this small church that you will find this monument to the dead of the Second World War. The monument is surmounted by a Virgin of Pity. You can read on this monument:
