This historical information from Frederech Beste's obituary.
"Fredrick Beste was born in Hannover Germany on November 7, 1827. At the age of fifteen he came to America with his parents who settled near St. Louis. On November 1, 1855 he was united in marriage to Miss Louise Obermeyer. They settled at once on a farm three miles west of Wright City which continued to be their home. To this union 12 children were born, six of these preceded the aged father into eternity. Those who survive him are: Henry, Gardenerville, Nev.; Mrs. Wisbrock, Wright City; Fred, Sutter, Calif.; Mrs. Louise Wolthaus, Wright City; Mrs. A.H. Hermeling, Warrenton; and John who is in the insane asylum at Fulton at present. His first companion in life departed this life on July 21, 1889. He was married the second time to Caroline Boedeker on March 28, 1892."
