From the lookout tower you have a fantastic view over the crowns of the characteristic slope forests. You look over the Lower Rhine and Doorwerth castle. In good weather you can even see Nijmegen. On beautiful autumn days you can enjoy the beautiful colors in the forest. With clear weather you can even see the high edge of the Reichswald near Kleve and the church of Hoog Elten.
The tower is 8.5 meters high and has an 18-foot concrete base.
Walking on the Boersberg
The Boersberg is an area with a lot of height difference. In the ice age, large ice masses pushed the soil up, creating the so-called dam walls. Because the river later scoured this hump, a steep slope was created next to the river. The altitude here varies from 15 meters above sea level in the floodplains to 63 meters above sea level on Boersberg. You can go for a nice walk in the surroundings of the watchtower, with a considerable climb here and there. Many plants and animals also feel at home in this varied area.
