Mrs. Lasater and her husband are buried next to each other, their final resting places marked by a modern, gray granite headstone with the family name, "Lasater", on both sides. Flowers complement their respective information boxes, which read:
Mayvis
1913 - 2015
Hulon
1909 - 1983
Mrs. Lasater's Findagrave page notes that she was born about ten miles from here in Gorman as Mayvis Madeline Jay as 1914 was about to roll in. She married Hulon Lesley Lasater on December 23, 1931 in Gorman, and worked in several area sewing factories there. She also picked peanuts for several years at the Birdsong Peanut Company, also in Gorman, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She outlived Mr. Lasater by over thirty years, and eight great-great grandchildren were born while she was still with us!
