The former school built in 1680 has been converted into a house and is located facing the village green in Barlaston.
A stone plaque situated on the front of the property is inscribed as follows;
'THIS SCHOOL WAS BUILT
IN THE YEAR 1680 & WAS
PURCHASED & RESTORED
BY THE PEOPLE OF BARLASTON
IN THE YEAR 1930'

"Description: On the left are the buildings of the Teacher's House and Barlaston School, built in 1845 as a charity school, and extended in 1861. It became a public elementary school in 1873. The school closed in 1963 when it became Barlaston Library. This in turn closed in 2008."
