A terracotta relief of Crucifixion Group adorns the southwestern gable of St. Jacob's Chapel in Brandenburg.
The relief on display outside is a replica. The original is now displaced inside the chapel to save it from environmental hazards and from vandalism.
The relief depicts Jesus on the cross, mourned by Mother Mary and St. Paul. All knowledge about the artist and the time, the original was created has been lost. The Chapel was built around 1320; it can be assumed that the original relief is of the same age.
