Podzim 1988. Renata studuje žurnalistiku. Žije s žárlivým Standou, kterému je obcas neverná. Rediguje školní casopis a je možná trochu „odvážnejší” než ostatní, a to hlavne proto, že nechce být dcerou svého otce „papaláše” - zamestnance Ministerstva vnitra.
Jenže situace se vymyká z jejích rukou – Renatiny protirežimní miniaktivity a románek s disidentem Holým si vyslouží zájem STB. Otec Renatu ze strachu o kariéru a možná i z presvedcení hodlá vydedit. Vztah se Standou se problematizuje.
